Kirstie’s opening: a Klaus-eye view…

23 03 2009

As promised, we’ve got some snaps of the opening of Kirstie’s exhibition, In the Presence of Blue at Sabbia, courtesy of the Klausmeister. There was a terrific turn-out of peeps, he reports, and a particularly happy night was had by all…

A large contingent travelled up from Canberra to mingle with all the local luminaries…

…including Grace (above) and Fran Kelly (the thinking sheila’s brekky radio diva) who launched the proceedings…

Nice looking show, and a trés interesting progression for Kirstie’s work – with any luck we’ll manage to catch it in the flesh.

Meanwhile for exhibition details and dates, go here.

And for more happy crowd snaps, go here.

[And it’s our first glimpse of Cobi’s bubba – so cute!!  n(Ed)]

Kirstie opening at Sabbia this week…

7 03 2009

La Gropp has just sent through the goods on Kirstie’s latest exhibition, which opens at Sabbia this coming week – sorry it’s a tad blurry, it’s scanned…

[Wow!! We love Fran Kelly – our all time fave brekky radio diva. Bummer we can’t make it to the launch…Wednesday nights are devilish awkward. n(Ed)]

Stop press: There’ll be snaps in the near future, after all – Klausie’s volunteered to be our roving reporter on the night, so we’ll be there by proxy…Yee Har!

If you’re hanging loose around the environs of Surry Hills this coming Wednesday then get on down.

Hottest g(l)ossip from the conference – Kirstie Rea resigns from Glassworks…

30 01 2008

In all the excitement of the gallery openings and the mad organisational rush for the Hunks, we completely forgot to bring you the most interesting goss doing the rounds of the traps – Kirstie’s resigned from the position of Artistic Director at  the Canberra Glassworks ‘to spend more time on her own art practice’. Which is a little akin to a politician resigning their portfolio ‘to spend more time with their family.’

Looks like another protracted round of the application-and-interview game.

Stay tuned for developments…
