The following is just in from our fave debonair pal about (Seattle)town, James Minson…
I bought this lovely little teapot in Eden on a La Gropp enforced tour of every Op Shop on the South Coast a few years ago and was delighted to find the matching milk and sugar bowl the other day at the local Salvos here in Seattle. The pot only holds about one cup of tea and is perfect for hosting those downsized recession receptions that are so popular these days. Ciao, James.
James, darling, who would have thought!! What are the odds? We love the serendipity.
And we remember that day…we needed an ale or two to recover…

What a fabulous line-up…’specially Tony Albert!!
It’s been a typical working week at the BVRG; a rendezvous with Marr…

…a gallery visit to Ivy Hill…

…and an Arts Café for Raw: art in the garage…

…featuring those two amazing blokes Matthew Perry and Steve Fox, with guest artists James and Shane.
For snaps of all that, and lots more Raw, go here.

Pa had to do a quickie up to Canberra and back today…

…from the look of his mobile snaps, he was lucky to get past Nimmitabel.

Oooh yeah – now that’s a cage garden (essential these days for protecting country gardens from marauding critters.) We want one bad!! It’s on the way to Paradise (Wapengo) - vege heaven!!
Designed by Andrew Murray, manufactured locally.
Congrats to Alex Chambers for making the cut in the Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize. We couldn’t lift an image, but you can check out the finalists here.
Good luck, darl.
Here’s a sneak peek at the raison d’être for the Gang’s visit to Adelaide…
We were casting the old (cross)eye over progress on Tour de Force – which, btw, we’re pleased to report is steady at the helm/all ahead full (ding! ding!)
Mind you, given that everybody is making new work, this project is running on a classic diet of edgy dynamism. Nothing like an arcing wire of creative tension to keep the faith alive, eh! We LOVE the frazzle of it, darlings. Pure gold.
First port of call was Nic’s. No snaps this round, just a philosophical scrum and plenty of sighs of serious contentment from Megsie apropos the ongoing conceptual development of his piece (how’s that for a tease!!)…
Next stop the Pony, where Tom has pretty much got everything nailed down to a floor plan already. The lights are on…

…and Tom is definitely home.

And then we were off to Gate 8…

with one da Vinci cherub…

…and la dita celestiale…

A cryptic hint at things to come, perhaps?
More teasers here.
On visits to Adders, one of the highlights is a Sunday morning Port Market run with Kez and Deb…

…followed by coffee at Lipson’s Café.
Well, has this now been ramped up in the treat stakes, or what!! Lipson’s has moved – and now literally hangs over the Port waterfront…

It’s fantastic.

Can’t wait for a summer visit – check out the view fom that deck…
Mmm…we’re thinking Coffin Bay oysters and a crisp Barossa white…
